Aldeburgh Windmill

A view of Aldeburgh Windmill at sunrise from the western end of the beach.
During its peak operation in the 19th century, the Aldeburgh Windmill (historically known as Fort Green Mill) produced 19 tonnes of flour per week. Built in 1824, this four-story brick tower mill featured four patent sails and two pairs of heavy millstones dedicated to grinding corn and grain into flour. It successfully operated at this high capacity until the 1890s, when its sails unexpectedly snapped and ground production to a sudden halt. Instead of being repaired for trade, the mill was permanently retired from milling and converted into a residential home by 1902. (Credit facts Wikipedia)
